2007 was good and bad year for me here as a telco professional. The bad side is my contract from Cingular (now AT&T) ended in March 2007. But it did not stop me in pursuing jobs in telco while waiting for a right job I ended doing menial job just to meet both ends. It was a big change for me doing physical work from parking cars, pushing planes, throwings luggages/bags, climbing ladders, sitter for PSTD, etc. To me I feel I did it all and couple with it my savings got depleted and all of my credit cards were max.

But inspite of that God is always good to me and my wife. We ended living in a FREE apartment why is it? After our lease ended in June 2007 I was lucky to landed a job as a Manager of an Apartment complex from July-Dec 2007. That really help us in our financial problem. It was not as demanding of my time and the owner is so good to me that I can work my time just to feed myself, wife and pay bills.

2007 has taught me lot in life and I know that the good side will come and so it did in November…….Until the next blog…bye……

Ok this is part II of my lagging behind my blogspot! Before getting started with my next job let me share some of my video clips I took during my site audit of cellsites around Arizona. Here are some of the video clips

After that Cingular stint I joined this company NetView as a Network Engineer doing field installation for their bank client. I am responsible for the Arizona market installing Cisco routers/switches and the whole rack cabinet. It was a quite an experience and I travel a lot to places from Tucson to Prescott. Below is one of the video clip on the way to Prescott

So many things happened I’ll be just catching up for now.

It was a worthwhile, productive and innovative period in performing my job at Cingular. I have developed a system procedure for automated backup for most of the network element in the MSC. I have done their Nortel R4 Switches, Nortel SDM, Nokia BSC, Alcatel 1630/1671 DACS, and Nokia SGSN each of these elements  has different media which deliver us to have a huge cabinet just for these medias.

The last three months with Cingular was doing cellsite audit and it was fun going around Arizona. We have our own laptop to fill-up forms, took 360 degress pictures of the in/out of the cellsite, and did some minimal maintenance on the hatch plate antenna. I’ll post some of the video clips I have taken during my audit next.

My last day at Cingular was March 30, 2007 it was a sad day for me losing a job that taught many things in the telco industry and of course missing the friends I made at Cingular MSC Phoenix. I got a picture of two of my friends below

On my left is Jason and next to him is Jeremy they are both good people I met them at Cingular. Jason is still there but Jeremy moved to San Diego he accepted a better job and pay. I hope someday I would see them in the industry.

So much for Cingular stint.

Major changes happened since I last login in August 2006. First, I went into a vacation. Where else? Pinas siyempre. I visited my children for 17 days and spent the new years with them. It was exhausting and expensive to be on vacation. Second, My wife and I decided to moved to Phoenix to get closer to my workplace. Third, because AT&T bought back Cingular, major changes were felt especially our work assignment which I am now doing field work and part of the audit team that is doing site survey on cellsites in Arizona.

I got some pictures and video to share regarding my field work. Watch for it…coming soon….

Here is a preview of it.

That’s all folks. See you later.

Wow nearly forgot this spot. Anyway, everything is fine since my first posting last April. I got more months to go at Cingular, yeah right my contract was renewed indifinitely. My Boss Jeff is keeping me busy there and as well as my co-workers especially Jeremy who very helpful in teaching stuff. He is the Guru there, he knows practically everything in switching, transport, etc.

I glad to have a co-worker like Jeremy and the rest of the guys, to me they are wonderful. Even though they always picking on me for the first few months of stay with them. Anyhow, I passed that period because we have newer guys than me.

See you later….

It’s totally new to me how American culture is right now because I grew up from the Philippines but anyway its a challenge and opportunity to see different culture to mixed.
